  drag & drop, and cinematic effects. Version 3 goes beyond

WORK EXPERIENCE

 

HP/Compaq, Houston, TX  (12/95-present)

 

* Manager in Server Supply Chain

 

  - Developer and architect of "Copernicus", a web-based tool

    to track new product supply chain readiness across all

    enterprise business units. Responsible for managing tool

    enhancements and governance of tool usage. Supports over

    2000 users.   Sends email notices at business-designated

    points in the NPI process. Tasks to be completed are

    organized into timelines. Dependencies can be set up

    between tasks so that tasks get completed in the correct

    order.  Interfaces to many upstream and downstream systems.

    Copernicus ensures that factories and business

    units are aligned as to exactly which products are launching,

    when they will launch, and which regions will launch them.

  - Developer and architect of "Autobahn", a web-based tool

    to track supply chain readiness of customer-specific and

    promotional SKUs (specials) for HP Servers. Managed the

    Specials Team (supply chain product managers) as well as

    development of the tool. Autobahn is critical to the

    success of HP's Hyperscale business.

  - Managed team that developed the Procurement Quote

    Management Tool (PQMT).  This tool stores Excel-based

    vendor quotes in a SQL database, so that the data can

    be compared across time, products, and vendors; enabling

    procurement to easily identify places where the best price

    is not being obtained.

  - Developed system of web forms and vbscript batch

    processes to automatically deliver over 300 customized

    slices of forecast and shipment data to supply chain

    users every week.

  - Developed a series of easy-to-use Excel macros

    to quickly retrieve product data from SQL Server

    databases, web pages, and SAP.

  - Developed system to automatically validate

    correct master data setup in SAP.

  - Developed a series of web sites to distribute

    ISS Supply Chain information worldwide.

  - Developed many quick-turn asp reports to

    meet supply chain analysis needs.

  - ISS lead for transition from TOPS tools to SAP/APO.

 

* Helped roll out and sustain Compaq's planning

  system (TOPS) in a wide variety of areas:

 

  - As program manager, set development priorities

    for system enhancements and fixes. Architected

    evangelized Demand Rationalization (DR),

    products using a single methodology.

    re-balancing.

  - Helped write the initial corporate operating

    procedures (COPs) for the forecasting process.

  - Performed many hours of analysis on planning

    issues including supply problems, data

    integrity issues, and forecast accuracy. Fluent

    in many drill-down tools and techniques

    including Access, Excel, and SQL.

  - Trained hundreds of users on all of the

    forecasting tools and processes.

  - Created & maintained a web site to keep

    users apprised of the latest planning system

    information. This included the development of

    many scripts and databases to automate access to

* Proposed, developed, and deployed a client/server

  development project for a large entertainment

  company.  System gathered data from a variety of

  sources and pulled it together to enable

  consolidated sales reporting.  Performed all functional

  analysis, system design, script development, and

  project management (including billing).  Managed

  GUI developer.

 

 

BSG Consulting,  Houston, Texas   (12/92-6/95)

 

* Assisted 2 cable television operators in selecting

  an integrated client/server financial software package.

  Helped define detailed functional requirements and

  write an RFI. Assisted with vendor demonstrations.

  Developed a technical architecture to accommodate

  selected vendor.

 

  Assisted in system roll out for one operator.

  Developed a bill of materials and an architecture

  deployment schedule.  Recommended LAN software and

  PC vendor. Installed Netware LAN's in 6 branch offices,

  a frame-relay WAN, over 200 new PC's, and office

  automation software.  Assisted in the training of new

  users.  Installed Sybase on a Sun Sparc server.

 

* Helped develop an executive information system for

  the cable industry.  Evaluated several approaches

  for extracting information from cable billing

  systems.  Worked with one billing provider to

  implement an approach.  Assisted in screen

  definition, database design, sales calls, and

  staffing a booth at the National Cable Television

  Association trade show.

 

* Designed and developed the infrastructure for a

  fully automated reconciliation system for a

  Chicago-based investment manager. Responsible for

  all batch functions, tool selection, and database

  design.

 

* Helped implement and administer a development lab

  for a regional Bell operating company. Lab

  consisted of over 30 Windows NT workstations,

  Windows 3.1 workstations, several NT servers,

  Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Systems Management

  Server (SMS), Lotus Notes, HP UNIX servers, and

  HP X-terminals.

 

 

Dell Computer,  Austin, Texas   (2/91-11/92)

 

* Notebook computer designer (model 320SLi).

  Member of the project team from inception to

  completion, worked on digital design, schematic

  entry, digital and analog debug, firmware debug,

  design for test, and design for manufacturing.  Had

  sole responsibility for the PCMCIA electronics, the

  design of which resulted in a patent application.

* Worked as a C-language programmer on a large

  project to develop a programming tool.  This tool

  allowed users to enhance the parallel performance

  of their FORTRAN programs by making semi-automatic

  source code transformations.

* Designed a dual-processor controller for a

  portable, communication intercept and direction-

  finding system.  The system included RS232 ports,

  modem, keyboard, and high resolution LCD display.

  miniature, low-power radio controller.

 

* Used CASE tools to design and analyze software for
